PDFico ("the Service") is a browser-based PDF toolkit operated by Lee Stephenson. This Privacy Policy explains what data is collected, how it is used, and your rights regarding your information.

The core principle of PDFico is simple: your files never leave your device. All PDF processing happens locally in your web browser using JavaScript. No files are uploaded to any server.

Information We Do Not Collect

PDFico does not collect, store, transmit, or access:

• Your PDF files or any document content
• File names, file sizes, or file metadata
• The content of any images you convert
• Passwords you use to protect PDFs
• AI summary results or extracted text

You can verify this yourself by opening your browser's Developer Tools (Network tab) while using any PDFico tool. You will see zero file upload requests.

Information We May Collect

While your files remain private, the website itself may collect limited data through third-party services:

• Google AdSense: PDFico displays ads through Google AdSense, which may use cookies to serve personalized advertisements. Google's use of advertising cookies is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
• Payment Processing: If you purchase PDFico Pro, payment is processed by Stripe. PDFico does not store credit card numbers or payment details. Stripe's handling of payment data is governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.
• Basic Analytics: Standard web server logs may record IP addresses, browser type, referring pages, and timestamps. This data is used solely for maintaining the service and is not linked to individual users.

Cookies

PDFico itself uses localStorage (not cookies) to store your Pro license key locally on your device. Third-party services such as Google AdSense may set their own cookies. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings.

Local Storage

PDFico uses your browser's localStorage to store:

• Pro license activation status (if purchased)
• User preferences (if any)

This data remains on your device and is never transmitted to any server.

Third-Party Services

PDFico uses the following third-party services:

• Google AdSense for advertising (free tier only)
• Stripe for payment processing (Pro purchases only)
• Netlify for website hosting

Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data.

Children's Privacy

PDFico is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Data Security

Since PDFico does not collect or store user files, the primary security measure is the architecture itself: client-side processing ensures your documents never leave your device. The website is served over HTTPS to protect any data in transit.

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Request deletion of your personal data
• Opt out of personalized advertising
• Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority

Since PDFico collects minimal data, most of these rights are satisfied by default. To opt out of personalized ads, you can visit Google's Ad Settings.
